‘ISAM’ – Full album with track-by-track commentary from Amon Tobin

The inspiring-ness.

This IMO, is the future of electronic music… The seamless melding of recorded organic sound and electronic manipulation of those sounds to create textures from another planet… AND to mold all that sound design into a beautiful, engaging composition. This goes beyond synthesized music… Beyond sampled music… Beyond traditional music…

Check out Amon Tobin’s running commentary.

Also, some cool making of footage with Amon playing a Haken Continuum Fingerboard.

Foo Fighters – Wasting Light Live

really fucking cool – they performed their new entire album live.

incidentally, they recorded the whole album analog, then cut the master tapes into thousands of pieces and included an inch in each physical copy of the record.

i can’t remember the last time I made a piece of music without referencing a computer screen :(

new musik this week

So now that I’ve popped my iTunes/Tunecore cherry with the Hear Me score, it’s time to keep it going!

Two more albums that feature film score material:

Solo – music I did for a feature film documentary earlier this year… And a film score compilation album.

After these two, it’s off to finishing an album (part 1 of a trilogy) that I’ve been tinkering on for a WHILE. (a couple years) Not in the film score vain, but a mish mosh of electronica, classical composition, and beatmusik. Should be interesting.

Stay tuned.
